McElhanney wins 2016 ACEC-BC Awards

Apr 22, 2016

McElhanney was delighted to be a part of the 2016 ACEC-BC Awards for Engineering Excellence held at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on April 9, 2016. We congratulate all our clients and fellow engineering firms who were honoured.

We are proud to announce that McElhanney’s Tijana Smiljanic, from our Design-Build/P3 Division, was presented with the Young Professional Award for her extraordinary accomplishments in the first 10 years of her engineering career. Tijana was recognized for delivering excellent work in engineering consulting as well as for volunteering within the industry and greater community.

In addition, McElhanney received an Award of Merit in the Transportation & Bridges category for our role as the Lead Construction Engineer on the design-build team for the deconstruction of the old Port Mann Bridge between Surrey and Coquitlam. Congratulations to David Jeakle, Morgan Trowland, and Raj Singh for their leadership on this truly impressive project and to all those who worked on it.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to Dan Doyle for winning the ACEC-BC Chair’s Award, and to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for receiving the inaugural Client of the Year Award!

We thank ACEC-BC for hosting another memorable gala and we look forward to next year!

The old Port Mann Bridge was deconstructed piece-by-piece from 2012 to 2014. The project won an award of merit from ACEC-BC.
