Given the sensitive locale of the site, McElhanney undertook a site suitability assessment in order to minimize the impact of development and maximize the site’s natural characteristics. The assessment identified primary and secondary conservation areas, through analysis of topography, vegetation, watershed and floodplain limits, viewsheds, future development implications, with existing road infrastructure. The master plan was a synthesis of this information, to develop ideal setting for the proposed RV Park. McElhanney also worked on the detail design of the entrance area and was involved in preparing graphic material for public consultation and successfully managing public consultations.
