Our staff in Smithers works together as a team allowing for flexibility in working hours, which gives our employees additional time to pursue personal interests or to spend time with their families. Our employees are active in the community including local organizations such as Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Community Band, Youth Valley Fiddlers, and the Nancy Greene Ski League.
Located on the Bulkley River, a world class salmon and steelhead fishery and surrounded by snow capped mountains, Smithers has a population of approximately 5,500 and is considered the regional service center for the entire Bulkley Valley area.
Outdoor activities are available year round and include fishing, skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, boating, mountain climbing, and golfing. Smithers is also host to several annual festivals, including the Bulkley Valley Midsummer Music festival. The majestic Hudson Bay Mountain (www.skismithers.com) serves as a backdrop to the community and was the filming location for the Disney film 8 Below.
