Professional Associations
We encourage active participation in professional societies and trade associations, and support our staff by paying their membership fees. Many of our employees not only belong to organizations such as the Association of Consulting Engineering of British Columbia, Institute of Transportation Engineering, the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors, and the Consulting Engineers of Alberta, they are also involved in setting the strategy and policy of these associations.

Health and Safety Training
We are always working toward continuous improvement in our safety program and this includes ensuring that our employees participate in safety training programs relative to their specific work.

Educational Assistance
As a full-time employee, you may be eligible for financial assistance for training, seminars and workshops to upgrade your knowledge and skills for the current and future needs of McElhanney.

Awards

The W.G. McElhanney Award
The company recognizes outstanding achievement by presentation of The W.G. McElhanney Award, which was established in 1985 and named to honour the founder of our company. Recipients receive recognition in the form of a wall plaque, a citation and a cash award of $5,000.

The R.A. Brocklebank Award
Named to honour a past president of McElhanney who led the company for more than 35 years this award, established in 2005, rewards individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the development and profitability of the company.

McElhanney Innovation Program
We provide incentives and give recognition to employees whose ideas result in a more effective, efficient company. Given in the form of a gift certificate, the awards may range from $25.00 to $1,000.00
