About the Scholarship Program
The McElhanney Scholarship Award is a $1,000 award presented annually to the BCIT and UBC students who best meet the scholarship qualifications criteria. In order to qualify for the 2009 scholarship, you should apply by October 31, 2009. The award will be granted by December 31, 2009.
Qualifications
Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
- For UBC
- Enrolled at UBC in the Civil Engineering degree program and;
- Entering 3rd or 4th year studies.
- For BCIT
- Enrolled at BCIT in the GIS, Geomatics or Civil & Structural Engineering Technology programs and;
- Entering 2nd or 3rd year studies
- Achieved a minimum average grade of 75%.
Preference will be given to:
- Candidates who are working or have worked in industry related positions.
- Candidates who are able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the community or in the area of all-round achievement.
The selection of the award recipient will be at McElhanney’s sole discretion.
