ENCOM Compass Professional Compass Professional has been developed to manage MapInfo's data and allow you to make effective use of its GIS and meta data.

Compass Professional manages the increasingly large amounts of MapInfo data. It will catalogue and maintain:

• Saved Queries
• Workspaces
• ER Mapper Image Web Server
• Oracle Spatial connections

Compass Professional consists of two programs:

Compass Administrator, which has been designed to streamline the capturing of meaningful metadata and maintain consistency between MapInfo tables. Organisations will have copies of Compass Administrator to serve users of MapInfo and Compass Navigator. An organisation's GIS Manager is able to catalogue data with Compass Administrator and make it instantly available to users on the network.

Compass Navigator. Compass Navigator means it is no longer necessary to hunt through complex directory structures and incomprehensible file names. Data is presented in a series of logical steps that allow you to open multiple files that may reside in different directories or on different servers. Associated with each table is a set of metadata which allows you to make informed decisions about the data you have selected.

Key features of Compass Professional

• Spatial Searching allows you to define an area and return all the data that is available over that area.

• User Defined Categories provide unlimited categories, data types and data sources in an Explorer-style tree view.

• Data View allows you to view data by either data type or data source, filter data by object type, date, scale etc.

• Catalogues. Catalogue Tab files, stored queries and workspaces. Compass Professional supports multiple catalogues.
