Grizzly Bear Habitat Mapping

Client: BC Ministry of the Environment

Using orthophotographs, our team identified medium to very high value grizzly bear habitats over a 4500 square kilometre area. These sites were then visited and classified by ecological plant association and structural stage and rated for apparent utility and actual use to the grizzly bear population. Rating tables were developed and transposed to final maps for the client. The Ministry then used these maps as a precursor to Wildlife Habitat Area identification and designation.
