CFB Comox Airport Design

Client: Comox Airport

The existing airport at Comox was old and significantly under capacity. McElhanney was responsible for servicing designs for the new terminal, including all infrastructure, offsite highway upgrading, onsite parking and ‘air-side’ apron servicing.

This assignment continued from preliminary planning, through detailed design and construction supervision.Innovative stormwater management techniques were implemented, as the site was tributary to highly sensitive fish bearing water courses.

The project has been the recipient of several awards from the air transportation community for best smaller airport in Canada.
