McElhanney has done several projects along the Alaska highway. For this particular one, we were engaged to provide construction surveys and quantity calculations, material testing, inspection and engineering advice for the reconstruction project on Km 942 to Km 957.

The contract surveys comprised checking horizontal and vertical control points, obtaining cross-sections at topographic breaks, downloading survey data daily and providing quantity calculations. McElhanney developed a program in-house to convert our survey data to EMXS format for the client.

We also performed material testing and on-site inspection of the construction activity to ensure the contractor was meeting specifications. Reports were given to the Public Works Resident Supervisor on a regular basis throughout the project.
