McElhanney has terabytes of our own digital orthophotos for cities/town across BC. We needed to design a web-based tool for people to browse our orthophotos for purchase. Our
in-house development process entailed the use of Open Source mapping software, plus design of custom software to access the images quickly in a web-based environment. The resulting application, MapsByAir.com (click here to view), provides users with an easy-to-use tool to view and order our high definition colour orthophotos online.

We also developed functionality to overlay various public utilities and other information, such as bus routes and street names, on our satellite imagery increasing its appeal to the public. Currently, MapsbyAir imagery is appearing in online MLS (Multiple Listing Service) listings for realtors and various governmental and non-governmental projects throughout BC.
