Thornhill Dyke Construction
Client: Kitimat-Stikine Regional District
The project involved design and reconstruction or construction of 1.5 km of dyke along the Skeena River.
Our environmental services team provided several services to the client on this project, including arranging permits from relevant provincial authorities, assisting with design concepts including crossing structures, stream replacement and instream fish habitat features, designing mitigation/compensation features within the context of existing construction materials and timing, monitoring all construction to ensure that works do not impact fish or fish habitat over and above that approved by the regulatory agencies and, vegetative reclamation of disturbed sites.
This large project allowed our team to exercise and improve their skills in a variety of different areas throughout the duration of our contract.
