Edmonton is the capital of the Province of Alberta. As a large capital city it provides big city amenities but without the congestion and high living costs. In fact, Edmonton consistently offers some of the most affordable housing of any city its size in Canada. Enjoy the amenities of a big city without the drawbacks.

Edmonton's festivals are a showcase of the city's cultural adventure and innovation. An agricultural exhibition held in Edmonton in 1879 has grown into one of Canada's largest fairs called Klondike Days. Since the first one held in 1980, the Edmonton Folk Music Festival has become one of the best folk music festivals in the world. The first Fringe Festival in Canada was held in Edmonton in 1983. At least 35 festivals occur in different parts of the city throughout the year earning Edmonton the title of "Canada's Festival City".

After attending the festivals, you can go shopping and experience a wave pool in one place, West Edmonton Mall, the world's largest entertainment and shopping centre. Or you can take a stroll in one of Edmonton's 460 parks. The city stretch of the North Saskatchawan River alone has 22 major parks, 11 lakes and 14 ravines. Edmonton boasts more greenery within its boundaries than any other city in Canada.

Edmonton. A unique kind of city living.
