The City of Lloydminster sits right on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Fourth Meridian, which is the border between the two provinces, runs right down 50th Avenue, the city's main street. Border markers, shaped like the survey stakes used by the original surveyors to lay the provincial border, line 50th Avenue like sentinels guarding the city.
