McElhanney’s HSE and HR programs and policies prioritize the safety, equity, and well-being of our employees. Our HSEMS supports extensive physical, psychological, and psychosocial safety protocols. The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Women At McElhanney Committees lead and develop policies, programs, and events that foster inclusion and belonging in our work environments. The groups sponsor education and training programs with series like Be More Than a Bystander (which provides knowledge and tools to develop allyship skills that address harassment and bullying in the workplace) and seminars like Cultivating Inclusion for Transgender & Gender Non-Conforming Professionals in our Industry.

The Reconciliation Action Plan is a multi-year strategy that integrates Indigenous reconciliation actions and policy change in business operations to support meaningful change for Indigenous employees, clients, communities, and rights holders. Actions include an Indigenous cultural awareness learning strategy, land acknowledgement guide, Indigenous recruitment strategy, and service expansion plan for Indigenous communities.
