TransLink and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure brought on McElhanney as the prime consultant to address deck repairs and create both a traffic management plan and an operations plan. The result was comprehensive plan that allowed the bridge deck rehabilitation to be completed and re-opened ahead of schedule.
The Veer Kunwar Singh Setu is a four lane highway bridge over the Ganga (Ganges) River near Patna in Bihar, India. It was procured through a Design-Build contract. McElhanney successfully value engineered an extradosed segmental bridge concept with 16 back-to-back 120m-long spans that reduced construction duration and material consumption for the 1,920m navigation spans portion of the 4km bridge. Approach spans outside the navigation spans utilizes precast segmental erected in span-by-span. The bridge opened in June 2017.
Saanich, BC – The Swan Lake and Brett Road Trestles are former railway trestles located on the Lochside Regional Trail and originally built between 1915 and 1917. Swan Lake Trestle is a 32 span 150m long structure and Brett Road Trestle is a 5-span 30m structure.
Holberg, BC – The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure requested McElhanney to perform a safety assessment of the existing bridge site, detailed design of the temporary detour Acrow bridge substructure and the conceptual and detailed design of the replacement bridge, under an As and When Engineering Services Contract. M
Fort Nelson, BC – Located approximately 70KM northwest of Fort Nelson on Highway 77, the Fort Nelson River Bridge provides access to the Liard Natural Gas basin and is the only road connection between BC and the Northwest Territories.
The Deh Cho Bridge crosses the Mackenzie River at Kilometer 23 of the Yellowknife Highway 3, near Fort Providence, NT. This is the first bridge crossing the Mackenzie and permanently replaces a ferry, which ran during the summer months, and ice road services during the winter.

After 50 years of public petitioning including hunger strikes by the isolated community of Basohli, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) of the Indian Ministry of Defense proceeded with the development of the Atal Setu Bridge, an alternative route to National Highway 1A.
