Two McElhanney Employees Win National Transportation Engineering Awards

Congratulations to Irini Akhnoukh and Anita Kyle for receiving honours at the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers (CITE) annual meeting in Edmonton June 3 to 6 2018.

Irini Akhnoukh was selected as the 2018 CITE Rising Star. The Rising Star Program recognizes members under the age of 35 who have already made an impact on the profession, have demonstrated the ability to lead the next generation, and have implemented innovative techniques to solve transportation problems. Irini is a Senior Transportation Engineer in our Calgary office.

Another award went to Anita Kyle, who accepted it on behalf of her four-member UBC Okanagan team for best student presentation.  Her team’s presentation was about conceptual design for a 3-lane roundabout and intersection in Kelowna to improve the overall safety and flow of the intersection. Anita is a co-op student working in our Prince George office.
